Maggie Reid Design
Visual architecture for print and digital projects
Our practice is built on a simple principle—good design is built from an understanding of the goals of a project and the experience of the end user. The structure of a finished project and the visual elements that inform the design should be vibrant enough to invite exploration and refined enough to promote discovery. Our goal in working with clients is distill a core message into type and art that expresses it, free of clutter and distraction.
The firm’s principle, Maggie Reid, brings three related fields of study to her practice:
- Graphic Design, including a broad array of print and digital projects for businesses, educational institutions and cultural organizations. Her work is influenced by the impactful use of typography and elegant simplicity of 20th century European designers. She holds a BFA from The School of Visual Arts.
- Studio Art, including work in painting drawing and photography, enabling her to draw on a broad array of influences in conceiving and executing visual approaches. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
- Learning Design, including the development of educational websites and applications, which informs her full range of design projects with the researched-based discipline necessary to ensure success. She holds a masters degree in Instructional Technology from Columbia Teachers College.
Descriptions of these and other projects are found in the portfolio section of this site.
